I think you mustn’t tell your body, you mustn’t tell your soul, ‘I’m going to retire’, You may be changing your life emphasis, but there’s still things that you have in mind to do that now seems the right time to do. I really don’t believe in retiring as long as you can breathe.

Highlights from the Thursday October 20, 2016 event.

The October 2016 ACTION/CRIME Festival was a major success. The sold out crowd loved every single film.

The theme of the festival was “Remember the Red Herring”.

In these genres (action, crime, mystery) especially, the “red herring” element always appears, like they did in all the movies presented this month. The audience thinks it’s one thing who is doing bad, but it is never is the case.

Definition of a Red Herring: Something, especially a clue, that is or is intended to be misleading or distracting in a novel, TV episode, story, or movie.

All 6 films this month were standouts as every movie received multiple votes for “Best Film,” and 4 out of the 6 films received an award. That never happens at our festival as usually there is 1-2 films that receive all of the votes and win all of…

I know a lot of people who say they want to leave Tulsa and go off to L.A. or New York City. But I can’t wait to come back to Tulsa. It’s a great place to be.

Seth MacFarlane

Born: October 26, 1973 in Kent, Connecticut, USA

The only way it [criticism] gets to me is that it demonstrates a deterioration of the power of restrained, critical, rational thought that was once more ubiquitous in our society. In the sixties and seventies there was such a high regard in this country for the achievements of human beings in science, in technology, in space exploration. And in some ways we’ve turned into this wimpy, astrology-loving, angel-loving, pseudo-scientific culture that no longer has that ability. We’ve gotten lazy in our willingness to use our brains.

When you are in a room and your job is to write jokes 10 hours a day, your mind starts going to strange places.

Dylan McDermott

Born: October 26, 1961 in Waterbury, Connecticut, USA

My theory about actors is we’re all walking milk cartons. Expirations dates everywhere.

I can’t really say that I ever believed in any of that business about fate and soul mates and the one really perfect person until I met my wife… As corny as it seems, it was really love at first sight. It was like, ‘Boom!’ There it is, you know it, and everything else fades away.
