Fuck-Up, Poetry Keshia L. Nowden

                                                                                                Fuck-Up – Keshia L. Nowden

You ever wonder why Santa Jesus God put us here?

You see fuckups everywhere.

Some inherited from wealth,

Some

stumbled

upon,

Some man-made.

I’m a reincarnated fuckup

I may have been the catalyst for being expelled from the Garden of Eden

I might have been the one to sell Jesus out at dinner one night,

or started World War I with a bullet to a noble’s dome.

Maybe Santa Jesus God hated me that much, he put me in this sad woman’s body,

A woman who doesn’t know what forgiveness feels like, because no one gave her a chance

to correct her mistakes.

Even if she did correct every mistake she’s made, people still shun her, like a contagion.

They say “all is forgiven,” but it isn’t.

“She’ll always be a fuckup,” She senses, “She’ll never change.”

So I don’t change…

UNTITLED, Poetry by Renee Michelle Christian

Genre: Life

UNTITLED by Renee Michelle Christian

*The cruel white man tried to braid fabrications.
He tried to cut a curve and make me weak.
He tried to split me from the ones I love.

I tell him to suck a lemon or sit on throne spirea.
Alphabet coming from my mouth is like ice.

But, I maintain my faith, hope for dreams of silk and my greatest
kiss of life.

~FALLING IN LOVE ~
When nights are falling
I’m falling in love
falling with rosebuds
and sleeping with doves
When morning is rising
I’m rising in love
rising with rosebuds
and flying with doves
Falling or rising
I’m falling in love
rising or sleeping
I’m flying with doves

His Melodic Apologies, Poetry by Forrest Jamie

His Melodic Apologies by Forrest Jamie

He spends a lot of the time apologizing to me
for the days that go by between texts and a life so busy.
I think I’ve learned something important, though;
I can’t have someone like that in my life –
someone so fickle.
not right now.
As much as that pains me to admit,
for my own recovery and sanity,
I know I need someone dependable and constant.
And he’ll just apologize again,
with some more empty comments and half-promises.
This sinking feeling in my heart and stomach
knowing I’m letting go
of someone so important
because
I can’t count on him.

MY KING, Poetry Nissi Odewumi

MY KING – Nissi Odewumi

*Written from the point of view of an insecure friend*

You were my king,

I was your jester.

I was your today,

You were my forever.

You were my all,

I was your “something”.

I defended you,

When everyone rumored you were nothing,

I told them, you were something.

It’s so funny,

How you laughed at me,

When I wasn’t looking.

How you made a fool of me,

When my back was facing you.

But was I to believe those people who cautioned me against you,

And those your sweet little words,

That came out of your pretty little mouth.

I don’t know what to believe anymore.

You told me I was your queen,

But deep down, I knew I was just one of your conquests.

It would have done me better, if you hadn’t got me emotionally invested.

If you had…

For Creativity, Poetry Tofunmi Kupoluyi

For Creativity
Tofunmi Kupoluyi
See, I believe it’s only natural that I dedicate this to an individual who saw me through
An unthinkable miracle, this thing between me and you
Who knew that there could be a channel like Audiri to help share my views
All that’s new, even this story of how we grew?
And developed,
I was once made to believe you only belonged to a select few
The gifted, the creatives, and sadly TK, that’s not you
So I approached you and said:
Hey my name is Tofunmi, and I’d love to write some poetry
I’m talentless but please believe that doing so will mean the world to me
And I have tried to honestly,
But the rhymes and I just don’t agree
And my apparent lack of harmony,
Has destroyed my chances to a great
degree
See I decreed on New Years’ eve…

Do you know what love is?, Poetry by Marcelo Moraes Caetano

Do you know what love is?

By

Marcelo Moraes Caetano

Our love, our reason
to exist: a heart without prison.

When we love, we are crimson
creatures in the shadows; weak bones.

we are masters and disciples,
walking without vehicles;

we stopped without care,
we love, even if we are not beloved; we dare.

we go from wave to wave, their sound,
following: the earth is round;

Do we know what to do?
For a moment, nothing but living soon.

We are fugitive wishes
hideout. Clean dishes.

Love is giving the other side
because only one never reborn; it glides.

Love is having your fingers in paradise
and the feet blind, without notice, in lies.

Nobody knows what love is,
nobody knows, only if we love. Only he sees.

Love makes us supreme; though,
even giants, we still grow …

SHORT SCRIPT CONTEST Deadline July 20th

WILDsound Festival's avatarWILDsound Festival

I was very impressed with the customer service at WILDsound. I had a question regarding my entry this year and I was contacted back immediately. I like that in a contest. Also, I was given feedback from WILDsound on my script and what I received was extremely helpful and detail oriented and it assisted me greatly in crafting my rewrite. The feedback from Wildsound strengthened my script to the point where it’s placing better in other contests as well.
