The FAMILY SEPTEMBER 2017 FEEDBACK Film Festival was truly a great success.

The theme of the festival was “CYCLE OF LIFE”.

Every film showcased was about the process of life. We are born. We live. We pass on.

NOTE: This was a showcase of the best FAMILY films from around the world.

This was a two part night. The first half was the best of live action shorts. And the 2nd half was the best of animation shorts.

This was an amazing night. One of the best of our 2017 season. When you showcase 10 films and every single film gets a vote from the audience for “BEST FILM”, you know you have a special night. This was a night where every single film was a worthy winner.

The full house crowd of 165 people didn’t say one negative comment in the entire moderation. I do not think that has ever happened in our history of over 100 events. People were on a trip of positivity because all of the films showcased were so dynamic.

When you make a short film, especially an animation film, most times it takes years to complete from the inception to completion. So it just gives me a fuzzy feeling inside to witness a festival like this. It was a perfect night.

Big thanks to the moderator of the evening, Kierston Drier, for her amazing job.

See you at the festivals in 2017.

My continued search for justice for the brutal murder of my son.

What genres would you say this novel is in?

True Crime/ Inspiration and Faith

How would you describe this story in two words?

Unconscionable injustice

What movie have you seen the most in your life?

What a wonderful world/somewhere over the rainbow.

Do you have an all-time favorite novel?

What motivated you to write this story?

The deep love and devotion I have for my son and knowing that the truth must be told. I have been beaten down continually over the past 10 years and these wrong doers must be held accountable and stopped.

My story details the beastly hate, greed and injustice that permeates through our society every day. I want to make a difference and all lives matter.

If you could have dinner with one person (dead or alive), who would that be?

My son Joseph

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

My faith, children, extending kindness to others, movies,
Music, singing, dance, Bible study, uplifting others, advocacy and never giving up.

What influenced you to enter your story to get performed?

Finally Knowing the truth and having all the proof that my sons brutal and tragic murder has been covered up by law-enforcement and prosecutors at every level.

So many people are supporting me to get my story out there for all people to know and understand that this horrific and hideous nightmare could happen to any parent.

Any advice or tips you’d like to pass on to other writers?

When you know in your heart that your story must be told, write it. It is good to journal with dates and facts.

Always let your heart and soul guide you and when you begin put together a 1-2 page summary of the main theme, The plot thickening and your goals.

I had an important, crucial message to send; when you do make sure you deliver it.

Get to know the writer:

What is your screenplay about?

Captivated by an extraordinary star, three warrior priests journey through Persia battling evil and struggling with their faith until they are transformed by God on their way to Bethlehem.

What genres does your screenplay fall under?

Action, Adventure, Christmas, Faith-based, Family Friendly, Spiritual

Why should this screenplay be made into a movie?

Quest for Light – Adventure of the Magi is a Christian-themed action adventure which appeals to a broad demographic. Christian viewers will appreciate the Bible-based story which holds true to Christian theology. The fast-paced-action story and it’s historically accurate depiction of the First Century Silk Road appeals to the broader audience. The story provides a fresh perspective on the Biblical account of the nativity and the significance of the Persian priests who abandoned their kingdoms on a quest for a foreign god.

Intrigued by the mystery and theological significance of the Magi, I based the story on Scripture and historical accounts of the era, including the events and circumstances surrounding Christ’s birth. The significance of God’s star and the role of the Magi are brought into focus in the Christmas miracle of God coming to live among men, as a baby born to a virgin.

How would you describe this script in two words?

Christmas Adventure

What movie have you seen the most times in your life?

Raiders of the Lost Ark

How long have you been working on this screenplay?

Five Years

How many stories have you written?

Two, this screenplay and the novel by the same title

What motivated you to write this screenplay?

Beatles, Back in the USSR

What obstacles did you face to finish this screenplay?

Learning the mechanics if a screenplay

Apart from writing, what else are you passionate about?

Sports

What influenced you to enter the festival? What were your feelings on the initial feedback you received?

The Family theme of the festival got my attention and the feedback was instructive and encouraging
